Description:Danny (Dane Clark) is persecuted his entire life because his father was hung for murder (killing a doctor who allowed his wife to die). Jerry, son of the banker, is the chief tormentor. They get in a fight over Gilly (Gail Russell), the schoolteacher. When Jerry tries to smash Danny with a stone, Danny grabs it and kills Jerry. He is scared of being found out and when he is, tries to run. The sheriff is sympathetic and knows Danny acted in self- defense. He gets Gilly to try to talk Danny into turning himself in. Danny runs to his grandmother's house and, in the morning, returns and gives himself up. Gilly is waiting for him.

Review - Moonrise

I supposed technically this is a good movie about the influences of your youth haunting us for life. But it was over-the-top dramatic, with dark lighting and ponderous music, and long shots of people's faces. I'm glad it ended with redemption.
