Description:At a boys prep school, new teacher John Keating (Robin Williams) departs from the curriculum and teaches his students to think for themselves and follow their passions. This leads one of the boys, Knox (Josh Charles) to pursue a girl he likes even after her football-playing boyfriend beats him up. It inspires another student, Todd (Ethan Hawke) to speak up in spite of a great fear of talking in public. And it inspires Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard) to join the drama club in spit of his parents' strict refusal. When Neil's father finds out, he pulls Neil from the school and enrolls him in military school. That night, Neil kills himself. The school and the parents of the other boys join to put the blame on Keating. He's leaving the school for the final time when Todd begins a spontaneous act of standing on the desks to show their support.

Review - Dead Poets Society

Well made and well acted. The story is dampened a bit by the fact of Robin Williams' own suicide. Apparently an extraordinary life isn't enough by itself to fulfill.
