Description:Three Communist Russians are sent to Paris to sell jewels taken by the revolution from Countess Swana. When the countess finds out the jewels are in Paris, she has her boyfriend Leon (Melvyn Douglas) sue to have them returned to her, stopping the sale. The Communists send Ninotchka (Greta Garbo) to fix the problem, but she falls in love with Leon and he with her. Swana, more jealous of her man than her jewels, makes a deal with Ninotchka to let the Communists have the jewels in exchange for Ninotchka's return to Russia. She agrees, but misses Leon. He manages to create a problem in Constantinople that gets Ninotchka sent there where he meets her.

Review - Ninotchka

Supposed to be funny, about how Communists give up their principles when they see capitalism, which I'm sure is true. But Greta Garbo is neither attractive or charismatic and I found it hard to believe anyone would fall for her. I lost interest long before the end.
