Description:Dr. Dolittle (Rex Harrison) is lousy at doctoring humans. When his parrot teaches him to talk to animals, he becomes a vet. He wants to set forth in search of the giant pink snail, but doesn't have the money until someone sends him a Pushmi-Pullyu. Dolittle uses the animal to gain half ownership of a circus. The local law think he's nuts and send him to an asylum. Dolittle's animals free him and he takes off on his voyage with three friends, Mugg (Anthony Newley), Stubbins (William Dix), and Emma (Samantha Eggar). They find a floating island, get into and out of trouble, then head back home on the snail and a giant moth.

Review - Doctor Dolittle

Long and boring. One or two of the songs were mildly catching. Not only was the plot silly, but the characters themselves were uninteresting. Harrison attempts to recreate Henry Higgins from My Fair Lady, or maybe he's just a jerk in real life. Emma's character kinda fell for him, but there was absolutely no reason why she would.
