Description:Several shallow, self-indulgent friends frequently meet up at the weddings of acquaintances. Charles (Hugh Grant) meets and falls for American Carrie (Andie MacDowell). Before he tells her how he feels, she's engaged to another man. That doesn't stop her from spending a night with Charles, or him from telling her he loves her. Charles decides to marry an old girlfriend, but Carrie comes to his wedding and informs him that her marriage has failed. He backs out of his wedding at the alter and he and Carrie agree to live together without marrying.

Review - Four Weddings and a Funeral

There was one character in this movie who was confident that one day he would meet a nice girl who would love him in return and that he would marry her. And he does. Pretty much everybody else has disturbing and self-indulgent views on marriage and none of them are worth rooting for.
