Description:After two rednecks rape his daughter, Black man Carl Lee Hailey (Samuel L. Jackson) shoots them in the courthouse in front of a crowd. White lawyer Jake Brigance (Matthew McConaughey) defends him in spite of the advice of his wife Carla (Ashley Judd) and all his friends. He and his associates are attacked, including law student Ellen Roark (Sandra Bullock) who is helping Jake. In the end, Jake manages to convince an all-White jury to acquit Carl Lee.

It was suspenseful, but I somehow knew all along how it would end. There were a lot of famous actors in this one, and probably a few more characters than needed.
