Reviews for Gilmore Girls
Review - Gilmore Girls
Sappy, with a liberal view of life, but fun with its rapid-fire, witty dialogue and with some great characters. I particularly got a kick out of Kirk who lives with his mother and works at a different job in almost every episode and somehow manages to be annoying and likeable at the same time. Lauren Graham played her part well and made me root for her. Alexis Bledel, as Rory, was often good but also often irritating, especially in the way she always acted wise and kind when she was being a jerk to a series of boyfriends.
On 9/13/25 I watched the sequel: Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. It was four extra-long episodes that pick up the story 10 years later. Lorelai finally marries Luke, who still runs the cafe. Rory fails as a journalist and decides to write books. She's single, sleeps around, and (at the very end of the last episode) gets pregnant. All the repeat characters from the first seven years make cameos. Apart from Lorelai and Luke getting married, none of it was funny or enjoyable and much of it was just weird.
