Description:Rancher Rance Macgowan wants to harvest the herd of wild horses led by a pinto stallion, but they're protected by law. He paints his horse Volcano to look like the pinto and sends him into the herd to cause a ruckus. When the sheriff goes to investigate, Volcano stomps him to death. The new sheriff is Tucson, one of the Mesquiteers, along with Stony and Lullaby. They capture the pinto to "put it on trial." Stony thinks the horse is innocent. He's also got his hands full with Rita (Rita Hayworth) a dance hall beauty. Stony's friends don't want Stony to marry Rita, so they offer her $1,500 to leave him and go to New York, which she promptly does. Stony runs off with the pinto. Macgowan and his goons chase and capture him and signal Volcano to kill him. Tucson and Lullaby arrive in time to save him and beat the bad guys in a shoot out. Macgowan is stomped to death by his own horse.

Review - Hit the Saddle

A poorly-made, poorly-acted movie with a ridiculous plot. The "effects" of Volcano stomping on people were awful. The only thing notable about this movie is a 19-year-old Rita Hayworth (who was called Rita Casino at this time).
