Description:Luke Collins (Scott Eastwood) is a bull rider. Sophia Danko (Britt Robertson) is an art student. On their first date, the come across a car that's gone off the road. Luke pulls out the driver, Ira Levinson (Alan Alda) and takes him to the hospital. Sophia befriends the old man and learns the story of his life — his love for Ruth (Oona Chaplin), their struggles because he couldn't have kids, their collection of valuable works of modern art. Luke is injured bull riding, and Sophia decides she can't go on with him putting his life on the line. They break up. Luke wins the championship but realizes it means nothing without Sophia. Meanwhile Ira dies. His lawyer invites Luke and Sophia to the auction of his art. The first painting is a lousy one of Ruth, and Luke buys it, then finds out Ira willed that whoever bought that painting got all of them, worth millions. Luke and Sophia get back together. Luke runs a ranch while Sophia runs the museum displaying the art.

Review - Longest Ride, The

Set in an alternate universe where couples just have the one big problem and once they're past that, live happily forever. There's always some pretty scenery or soft music to make things right again. The characters here are shallow but likable, the story implausible. But that's not really the point, is it?
