Mrs. Munro (Laura Linney) and her young son Roger live with him and take care of him. Mrs. Munro wants to leave because she fears that when he dies she will be without a job. Roger and Sherlock become friends and Sherlock teaches him how to take care of the bees. Roger is attacked by wasps and almost dies, which drives Sherlock and Mrs. Munro closer. Sherlock agrees to leave her everything in his will and she agrees to stay. He finally remembers his last case, a woman driven to grief by the death of her two children. Review - Mr. Holmes

Good characters. Ian McKellen's portrayal of an old man trying to remember was genius. The story dragged a lot, however, and in the end was just sad. It was based on a book that I think was a retelling of one of Doyle's stories. In Doyle's account, Sherlock was the hero. In the movie, Sherlock was writing it down as he remembered it — the true story.
