Review - Republic of Doyle
Good action, good characters. A handful of the episodes were implausible, but for the most part it was exciting.

| Description: | Jake Doyle (Allan Hawco) is a private investigator in business with his dad Malachy (Sean McGinley) in St. John's, Newfoundland. Also helping is Malachy's wife Rose (Lynda Boyd) and Des Courtney (Mark O'Brien). Jake has an on-and-off relationship with policewoman Leslie Bennett (Krystin Pellerin). Des loves Jake's niece Tinny (Marthe Bernard). Jake is rough and physical but good and his methods are productive although they get him in a lot of trouble. In the final season, Jake is convicted of murdering the mayor and Leslie is fired. They go on the run and manage to prove that Jake was framed and that much of the city government is corrupt and in league with the local mob. Jake and Leslie get married, as do Des and Tinny. |
