| Description: | Michael and Jane Banks have grown up. Michael is a widower with three young children, and he's about to lose his house to the bank. Things are in turmoil until Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) shows up and announces that she's going to be the nanny. She doesn't fix things so much as she facilitates solutions. There are plenty of songs, some of them catchy (but unlikely, in this day, to become as famous as the originals), plenty of magic, and a happy ending. Jane strikes up a romance with Ben, the lamplighter who joined Mary and the kids on many of their adventures. Dick Van Dyke makes a cameo at the end as the bank manager who helps the Banks keep their house. |
