Description:Jane Broadbent (Sandra Dee) leaves American for London to live with her father Jimmy (Rex Harrison) and his second wife Sheila (Kay Kendall). It's the debutante ball season, and Sheila is determined to hook up Jane with a suitable husband. Jane is bored by the whole thing until she meets David Parkson (John Saxon) a drummer with a bad reputation. Jane and David fall in love, but Sheila does all she can to fight it. Jimmy, meanwhile, kind of likes the guy, especially after he finds out his reputation is unearned. And then, to top it off, David inherits an Italian dukedom. There's a lot of confusion, but in the end, Jane and David get engaged and Sheila is happy.

Review - Reluctant Debutante, The

Not a movie I'd want to watch multiple times, but Rex Harrison's slightly-drunk, slightly bored, generally bemused character makes it enjoyable once.
