Description:Rancher Roy Whitman (John McIntire) and his cowboys have settled a valley in California. The only thing that keeps it from being a home is women. He hires trail guide Buck Wyatt (Robert Taylor) to bring a caravan of women from Chicago. Buck hires several men to help, but before the train goes far, they all quit because Buck won't let them fool around with the women. Roy dies in an Indian attack. Several women die from accidents, floods, and in the Indian attack. Finally there is only Buck and Ito, a Japanese boy, left with the women. They face hardship and thirst, and one of the women even gives birth. But they finally win through. The women refuse to go into the valley until Buck gives them a chance to clean up and pretty up. The women pair off with the cowboys and get married. Buck falls in love and marries Fifi, a woman with a past who has proven herself on the trip.

Review - Westward the Women

A bit dull. There really wasn't any character development, just the basic story. And I knew the whole plot about three minutes in. But still it had its moments.
