Description:Alec Walker (Cary Grant) is stuck in a loveless marriage with gold digger Maida (Kay Francis). Alec meets Julie (Carole Lombard), a widow, and falls in love with her. Maida finds out and determines to do whatever it takes to break them up so she can stay with Alec and his money. Alec realizes there's no way out and goes on a bender. He catches pneumonia and almost dies. Only Julie's promise that all will be well keeps him alive. Maida shows up and confronts her, but Alec's parents hear her schemes and Maida finally realizes she's lost.

Review - In Name Only

The best part of the movie was watching Kay Francis subtly be a conniving shrew. It's also probably my favorite Carole Lombard role that I've seen—I've never been a huge fan. Grant stars but is really only around to give the two women something to fight about.
