Description:Two gunmen show up in a small town and kill gas station attendant Ole "Swede" Anderson (Burt Lancaster). Jim Reardon (Edmond O'Brien), insurance investigator, sets out to find out why. He discovers that Swede, with three others, led by Big Jim Colfax, robbed a payroll. Afterwards, Swede thinks the others are double-crossing him, so he takes the money and runs off with Kitty (Ava Gardner). But Kitty is the girl of Big Jim, and soon runs out on Swede and takes the money back to Big Jim. Years later, Big Jim happens to see Swede at his gas station and sends the killers after him before he can tell the other two gang members that they were double-crossed. Before it's over, all four gang members and the two gunmen are dead, and Kitty is arrested.

Reviews for The Killers

Review - Killers, The

My main issue is that I had nobody to root for. Everyone was crooked except Reardon, and he was kinda a jerk. The only sympathetic character, from my point of view, was Sam Lubinsky, a childhood friend of the Swede who helped O'Brien with the investigation.
