Review - Merrily We Live
A typical 1930's madcap comedy—silly, fast-moving, unbelievable, and clever.

| Description: | Novelist Wade Rawlins (Brian Aherne) goes to the country to write. When his car accidentally rolls off a mountain, he goes to the estate of the Kilbourne family to ask to use the phone. Mrs. Kilbourne (Billie Burke) has a penchant for hiring tramps to try to reform them. Thinking Wade is a hobo, she hires him as the family butler. Wade goes along with it as a lark. Jerry Kilbourne (Constance Bennett), the oldest daughter, falls for him. All sorts of confusion occurs, capping with the discovery of Wade's car and an article in the paper about his death. When he shows up the next morning, everyone in the household is thrown into confusion. The movie ends with Wade and Jerry embracing. |
