| Description: | John Davis (Robert Young) is an American correspondent in London during the blitz. When a German bomb injures his pregnant wife Nora (Laraine Day) and causes her to lose her baby, he sends her home to America. She's shell-shocked by her experience. John stays in London, afraid to deal with what his wife has become. He befriends two young children orphaned by the war, Margareet (Margaret O'Brien) and Peter (William Severn) and decides to adopt them and take them to America to Nora to be the family they can't have. |
