Description:Laurence Gerard (Dick Powell) was a Canadian flyer in WWII. He spent time in a P.O.W. camp and when the war was over and he was released, he found out his french wife had been killed in a German reprisal against the resistance. Gerard determines to find the person responsible—a Nazi named Jarnac. He follows the trail to Rio and stirs up the locals, both the hiding Nazis and those looking for them. In his stumbling, he finds and kills Jarnac but also finds the papers that implicate all the Nazis in the country and turns them over to the Nazi hunters.

Review - Cornered

Dark, complicated, and not terribly interesting. Powell was an obsessed hunter from the very start and never became a sympathetic character.
