Review - Easy to Wed
The usual chaotic, silly rom-com with slightly more likable than usual characters.

| Description: | Connie Allenbury (Esther Williams) is suing a newspaper for libel because of a false story that she broke up a marriage. The editor of the paper Warren Haggerty (Keenan Wynn) hires Bill Chandler (Van Johnson) to woe Connie. But first, he temporarily marries Bill to his own fiancee Gladys Benton (Lucille Ball). The plan is to have Gladys burst in on Bill and Connie so the paper can turn the libel into truth. But Bill and Connie fall in love. Gladys also thinks she's in love with Bill and tries to follow through on the plan, but Bill has told Connie everything. It gets all tangled at the end, but Bill ends up with Connie and Warren ends up with Gladys and all is silly and well. Fidel Castro is an extra in a poolside scene. |
