| Description: | Radio singer Gary Mitchell (Lee Bowman) thinks he's a big shot and cuts off his agent, Doug Blake (Jack Carson) to go it alone. Doug goes in search of a new performer and discovers Martha Gibson (Doris Day). But try as he might, he can't find anyone who will sign her to a contract. Doug doesn't give up, and even goes into debt. Finally, when Mitchell shows up too drunk to perform one night, Martha gets her chance and makes it big. Doug falls in love with Martha, but she thinks she's in love with Mitchell. Doug goes out of his way to give Mitchell another shot. In the process, Martha finally realizes what a snake he is and decides to marry Doug. |
