Description:British bank robber Eddie Chapman (Christopher Plummer) is in prison on the island of Jersey when the Nazis occupy. To save himself and get out of prison, he contacts the Germans and offers to become a spy. He is suspected by some of them, including Colonel Steinhager (Gert Frobe), but believed by the countess (Romy Schneider) after she sleeps with him to see if he's really for Germany. He's also believed by Baron Von Grunen (Yul Brynner). Chapman is sent to England to blow up an airplane factory. He manages to bring info on German agents in England who are soon rounded up. The British build fake buildings in the factory and then blow them up, making the Germans think Chapman carried out his mission. English spymaster Freddie Young (Trevor Howard) offers to erase Chapman's criminal record if he goes back to Germany and sends information on German troop movements. The Germans are even more suspicious, but Von Grunen still believes Chapman and arranges another mission to England. This time he's supposed to report the landing places of V-2 bombs. He sends false information that causes the German bombs to land in rural areas. When the war ends, he finds out that his criminal records were destroyed in a bombing at the very beginning of the war and that he didn't need to make all his double-agent efforts to clear himself.

Review - Triple Cross

Supposedly based on a real guy named Eddie Chapman, but as the movie portrayed it, it was a little tough to believe. Still it was entertaining enough.
