Compelling, and I think I was even rooting for the bad guys toward the end, but it couldn't really end any other way.

| Description: | Ed Biddle (Mel Gibson) and his brother Jack (Matthew Modine) are on death row in Pittsburgh for murder. Kate Soffel (Diane Keaton), the wife of the warden falls for Ed and smuggles them saws to help them escape. Ed convinces her to come along on their run for Canada. A posse is formed to catch them. When they are almost caught, Kate makes Ed promise to kill her. He does, but she doesn't die. The brothers are shot as they flee the posse. Kate lives and is put in prison. |
