Description:Polly Parrish (Ginger Rogers) is a sales clerk at Merlin's department store. At lunch one day, she spots an infant on the steps of an orphanage. She picks it up to keep it from falling down the stairs and is mistaken for the mother. Nobody will listen when Polly tries to explain that the baby isn't hers. The head of the orphanage informs David Merlin (David Niven), the son of the store owner about what happened. He steps in to help Polly but soon falls in love with her. David's father J.B. (Charles Coburn) assumes the child is his grandson and insists on bringing it to his mansion to raise. All is in a muddle, but David asks Polly to marry him, clearing everything up—except that everyone but Polly still thinks the baby is hers.

Likable enough characters, but this was another of those silly comedies that would have no plot whatsoever if the characters simply shut up and listened to each other and believed each other.
