Description:New Yorker Lenny (Charles Grodin) marries Lila and takes her to Florida for their honeymoon. Before they even get there, Lenny is tired of marriage. His feelings are multiplied when me meets Kelly (Cybill Shepherd), a Minnesota girl. Lenny spends the week dodging his wife and hanging with Kelly in spite of the fact that her father (Eddie Albert) hates him. Before the week is out, he informs Lila that he wants a divorce. He moves to Minnesota and pursues Kelly, finally winner her hand. The movie ends with a scene from the wedding reception that suggests Lenny is already bored.

Review - Heartbreak Kid, The

Billed a a comedy but much more sad than funny. Grodin's character is fake and a jerk. Lila is a little sloppy around the edges, but sincere and good. Kelly is beautiful but shallow. The only sensible character in the movie is Kelly's father, played by Albert.
