| Description: | Freddy Shoop (Mark Harmon) is a shiftless high school gym teacher who is stuck teaching a remedial English class to flunkies. He has no idea what he's doing and doesn't care—taking the students on field trips to amusement parks and so forth. Over time, he gets to know and like the students. He works out a deal with them—they actually study and try, and he'll grant their wishes. He teaches one student how to drive. He's a Lamaze coach for another (until another student steps in), He helps one student get better at football. Another teacher, Robin (Kirstie Alley) helps him, while refusing his requests for dates. In the end, some of the students pass, but not all. But the principal doesn't fire him because the students' parents show up and tell how Freddy has helped their children. He keeps his job and gets Robin. |
