Review - Angels in the Outfield
Sappy, forgettable, and kinda dull, but harmless.

| Description: | McGovern (Paul Douglas) is the manager of the terrible Pittsburgh Pirates. He cusses and insults his players and punches anyone who gets in his way. Jennifer (Janet Leigh) is a reporter who is assigned to write about him. One night, an angel speaks to McGovern and tells him that, if he cleans up his act, the angel will help his team win. McGovern does, and the Pirates win the pennant. A young girl, Bridget, from an orphanage sees angels on the field helping the team and word soon gets out. McGovern is teased. Jennifer soon begins to believe in him. McGovern decides to adopt Jennifer. It's isn't stated outright, but it's hinted that McGovern and the much-younger Jennifer get together. |
