| Description: | Abbie (Billy Crystal) is a doctor from New York. His girlfriend Lisa (JoBeth Williams) finds out he is estranged from his father Abe (Alan King), who lives in LA. She encourages Abbie to visit, which he does. Abe is a movie extra who insists that he's an actor. He has a hard time facing reality, and Abbie can't stand it. But over time, they begin to bond. When Abbie notices that Abe had problems, he takes him to the hospital where they find out he has a brain aneurysm. Abbie fakes being an agent and gets his father a speaking role in a movie, but on the morning of shooting, Abe dies. |
