Garner made the series with his wise-cracking, down-on-his luck portrayal of Rockford. The early episodes were more typical detective stories with clients hiring Rockford. Later, he seemed to get pulled into situations against his will. In the final 11 episodes were more stories in which Rockford happened to be a character.

It was kinda funny the way he kept asking Angel for help and getting crossed, kept reporting crimes to Becker and not being believed and the incredible amount of times bad guys broke into his trailer and dragged him off somewhere. You'd think he get sturdier doors.
