Description:Walt Murdock (Christopher Plummer) signs on as a Audubon game warden in the everglades at the turn of last century. He's tasked with trying to stop Cottonmouth (Burl Ives), the leader of a gang who kill egrets to get their feathers for ladies' hats. While Walt bumbles around and does very little, Cottonmouth keeps passing on opportunities to kill him. Finally, when Walk stumbles into the gang's island hangout, Cottonmouth agrees to return to Miami with him—if Walt can get him there before Cottonmouth kills him. Cottonmouth ends up getting bitten by a snake and dying, but not before agreeing with Walt that birds are worth saving.

Review - Wind Across the Everglades

A hot mess of a movie, with ridiculous over-acting by Ives and Plummer and everyone else—choppy editing, side stories that have nothing to do with the plot (like Gypsy Rose Lee playing a madam and some bit about a Seminole who wasn't allowed to talk to his wife because he lied once). It's all interspersed with random animal clips.
