| Description: | Teenager Daisy Clover (Natalie Wood) lives in poverty with her senile mother when she's discovered by Raymond Swan (Christopher Plummer), head of a film studio. He makes her a star of musicals and her fame sweeps the nation. As part of the deal, Daisy's mother is locked up and everyone is told she is dead. She is seduced by Hollywood bad boy Wade Lewis (Robert Redford) who marries and then abandons her. Swan makes a play for her and gets her to cooperate with his films by letting her live with her mother. When her mother dies, Daisy has a breakdown and tries to commit suicide, but then decides instead to rebel. |
