| Description: | McKinley Thompson (Clark Gable) is an American reporter in Moscow in the early days of WWII. Against regulations, he smuggles out reports that are anti-Communist. Vanya, the valet at his hotel, finds out and threatens to tell the authorities unless Thompson helps Vanya's daughter Theodore (Hedy Lamarr) get out of Russia. The chief difficulty is that Theodore doesn't want to go, but Thompson convinces her she can teach Americans about Communism. Thompson and Theodore get married, arrested, and chased by an entire Russian army, but escape to live in the USA. |
