Description:Millionaire banker J.B. Ball (Edward Arnold), upset with his wife's extravagance, throws her sable coat off the balcony. It lands on the head of poor stenographer Mary Smith (Jean Arthur). She tries to give it back, but Ball kindly lets her keep it. Word gets around, and everyone thinks Mary is Ball's mistress and has access to his money. They start giving her things — a suite at a fancy hotel, cars, jewelry. She meets John (Ray Milland), who happens to be Ball's son. He's trying to prove he can make it on his own, so he is also out of work and money. He and Mary hit it off. There's lots of confusion, but finally everything gets sorted out and John and Mary get married.

Review - Easy Living

The plot was worth a 9 or 10, but the constant screaming and chaos and slapstick that passed for funny in those days got really annoying.
