Description:Lt. Matt Hazard (Troy Donahue) is sent to Arizona to deal with the Apaches. He falls in love with Kitty (Suzanne Pleshette) wife of the post officer. When the officer is killed, Matt wants Kitty, but his fiancee Laura shows up unexpectedly. While all this is going on, the cavalry and the Apaches ride around a lot and shoot each other off their horses a lot, seemingly without ever accomplishing anything or having less men to fight the next skirmish. then Gen. Quaint shows up and decides to force a major battle. There are many scenes of men riding horses and shooting at each other and then the battle is declared a victory for the Indians. Quaint tries a new tact and sends Matt into Mexico to ask the Apaches to surrender and go peaceable to the reservation—which they agree to do. But Quaint is no longer in charge and the Apaches are sent to Florida. Matt refuses a metal and resigns, so the Army reverses course and sends the Apaches to Arizona after all and Matt marries Kitt.

Review - A Distant Trumpet

The movie deserves a 3. Suzanne Pleshette was the only interesting thing about it and raised it by two ratings. Donahue is boring. The plot was silly. The fighting was bogus. The history was bogus. The logic was ... You get the point. Just a bad movie.
