Description:Tom Corbett (Glenn Ford) is a widower who wants to marry Rita (Dina Merrill). But Tom's young son Eddie (Ron Howard) wants him to marry their next-door-neighbor Elizabeth (Shirley Jones). The problem is that Tom and Shirley seem to fight every time their together. Eddie doesn't give up, and even runs away from summer camp when he finds out Tom is about to propose. Finally, Tom and Rita realize it won't work and Eddie coaches Tom to ask Elizabeth for a date.

Review - Courtship of Eddie's Father, The

Odd movie. There was a whole side bit with Stella Stevens and Jerry Van Dyke that didn't really have anything to do with the plot. Shirley Jones was good and likeable. Glenn Ford acted throughout like he wanted to be very sure Ron Howard was the center of attention. And Ron Howard was annoying and too old for his own good.
