Description:Mae Swasey (Thelma Ritter) is a broker, fixing couple up together for a price. She's trying to hook up doctor Matt Hornbeck (Scott Brady) when she meets model Kitty Bennett (Jeanne Crain). Kitty is involved with a married man, so Mae befriends her and convinces her to break it off. She then manages to introduce her to Matt. They hit it off, but when Kitty finds out what Mae does, she is hurt. It doesn't take Matt long to patch things up with Kitty. But in the meantime, Kitty matches Mae herself up with a wealthy widower. At the last minute, Mae decides he's not for her and settles back into her broker business.

Review - Model and the Marriage Broker, The

Great characters and a fun story. Thelma Ritter, in her biggest starring role, was great as the Mae, the cynical broker. Jeanne Crain was beautiful as the vulnerable Kitty.
