Description:Prudence (Suzanne Pleshette) is fired from her job as a librarian at a girls' college for recommending a steamy novel. She decides to find out what love is all about and goes to Rome. She meets Don (Troy Donahue), an American, and they take a whirlwind tour of Italy and fall in love but refrain from having sex. Back in Rome, Don's old girlfriend Lyda (Angie Dickinson) shows up and makes a play for him. Prudence decides she has to become experienced to make Don love her, so she approaches an older Italian man, but he knows she's not really into him, so he gently turns her down. Prudence returns to America. Don follows and asks her to marry him.

Review - Rome Adventure

As an advertisement for Italian travel, it's great. As a snapshot of Suzanne Pleshette's vulnerable attractiveness, it's great. As an engaging movie, not so much. Perhaps if Troy Donahue could act even a little bit and if he had more charisma than a brick, it would have been better.
