Description:Executive Stephen Herrick (Edmond O'Brien) takes his snotty fiancee to the show one evening and finds his box occupied by Dot Duncan (Lucille Ball). The next day, she shows up in his office as his new secretary. When she turns out to be talented and smart, he begins to appreciate her. He soon meets Dot's fiance, Coffee Cup (George Murphy), a fun-loving sailor who is always making, and losing, the money he needs to buy Dot a ring. By the time he gets his act together, Dot and Stephen have fallen in love. Coffee Cup realizes this and reenlists in the navy so Dot and Stephen can be together.

Review - A Girl, A Guy, and a Gob

This movie was a lot louder and more slapstick than my review made it sound, but basically, it was fun. I was never a fan of Lucille Ball on TV, but she was sweet and attractive here, and Edmond O'Brien was good as her shy boss who couldn't help falling for her.
