| Description: | Maisie (Ann Sothern) loses her job with a carnival and gets arrested because of the antics of Bob Rawlston (Lew Ayres). A judge orders Bob to give Maisie a job to make up for the one she lost, so Bob hires her as a maid at the family mansion. Her outspoken ways soon get the attention of Bob's sister Abby (Maureen O'Sullivan) who makes Maisie her personal maid. Abby is about to marry a gold digger, but finds out he's a creep who's already cheating behind her back. She takes poison. Maisie finds her and calls the doctor. While waiting to see if Abby will live, Maisie gives what for to Bob for being a drunk and to Abby and Bob's father for being a neglectful parent. They repent, Abby gets better, and Maisie is asked to join the family as Abby's friend. Maisie is tempted, because she's in love with Bob (the sober version), but she realizes she's not in the same class. She goes back to show business, but Bob tracks her down and insists on marrying her. |
