Description:Somebody is killing young women in London and writing Scotland Yard poems to announce them. When her friend disappears, dancer Sandra Carpenter (Lucille Ball) talks with police inspector Temple (Charles Coburn). Impressed with her smarts, Temple hires Sandra to go undercover and answer want ads. She runs into a string of odd balls: a lunatic dress designer (Boris Karloff); a butler who runs a white slavery ring, and Robert Fleming (George Sanders), owner of a string of nightclubs. Sandra and Robert fall in love and get engaged, but then she finds evidence linking Robert to the missing women. Temple arrests Robert but doesn't believe he's guilty. He asks Robert to confess to put the real killer—Robert's business partner who is jealous of Robert's success with women—to make a move on Sandra. He does and is arrested. Sandra and Robert end up together.

Review - Lured

Better for atmosphere than for plot. The viewer is led down all sorts of rabbit holes. Ball and Coburn do good jobs in the midst of all the dramatic silliness, but silliness it remains.
