The plot was OK, but the fun part was watching, and listening to, Gable and Bennett and their characters fell for, and repelled, each other.

| Description: | Newspaperman Jim Branch (Clark Gable) falls for his society reporter Sharon Norwood (Constance Bennett). She's interested but put off by the way he manipulates people for stories. When a wealthy woman is found dead, Branch suspects Tommy Bannister, who happens to be a good friend of Sharon's. She defends Tommy, especially since she was with him on the night of the murder. But Branch shows up at Tommy's house and tricks him into revealing how he killed the woman. Tommy confesses, and Branch and Sharon get married. |
