Description:Rose Marie (Ann Blyth) is orphaned in the Canadian wilderness. Mountie Mike Malone (Howard Keel) is tasked with looking after her and brings her to the RCMP base. Eventually, she is sent off to a nearby town to learn how to be a proper lady. There she meets Jim Duval (Fernando Lamas), a trapper who is also a poacher, a thief, and an all-around sleeze. Rose falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Mike realizes he loves Rose and asks her to marry him. Then Jim is arrested for killing an Indian and sentenced to death. When Mike finds out Rose loves Jim, he searches for proof that Jim is innocent and then sends Rose off to marry Jim.

Review - Rose Marie

The story of an orphaned tomboy who falls for a Mountie could have been good except ... she didn't. She ended up with the jerk. And the songs were boring and forgettable and popped up at weird moments. And while I'm not generally too worried about this sort of thing, the depiction of the Indian dance was ridiculous.
