Description:Two wounded soldiers on leave, Slim (Robert Hutton) and Nowland (Dane Clark) spend three nights at the Hollywood Canteen, where movie stars and studio personnel entertained soldiers during the war. Organizers Bette Davis and John Garfield (who started the canteen in real life) find out that Slim has a crush on Joan Leslie so they arrange for the two to meet and kiss. Then Slim just happens to be the one millionth soldier to enter the canteen and wins a date with anyone he chooses. Of course he chooses Joan and the two spend a couple evenings together dating and pretending it's more serious than it ever can be. Nowland ends up with a studio guide (Janis Paige). Throughout the movie, the "plot" is interrupted by songs and dances by famous Hollywood stars.

Review - Hollywood Canteen

As corny as possible, but still somehow enjoyable. It's basically Warner Brothers congratulating itself on how noble it is, with many of its stars making an appearance of one sort or another.
