Description:When Dick (Robert Hutton) gets home after serving in the army, he finds his girl, Janie (Joan Leslie) waiting for him, along with a job at Joan's father's newspaper. Dick and Janie get married, but things soon get complicated when Dick's buddy, Spud ( Dorothy Malone) comes for a visit and turns out to be a WAAC. Dick and Spud spend a lot of time together. Janie is jealous and tries everything she can think of to win her husband back. It turns out, however, that she's just helping him get a story for the paper. When Janie's father won't even look at the story, Dick finds out that Janie pulled strings to get him his job. he quits. Everything comes to a head at a dinner party. Things get loud a chaotic, but then Dick's story shows up and is a big hit and he and Janie make up and all is well.

Review - Janie Gets Married

Annoying from the first minute to the last. One of those movies in which there would be no story if the characters actually talked to each other instead of jumping to conclusions. The point, poorly made but valid, is that soldiers who had huge responsibilities during the war—over life and death at times—even though they were very young came home and found people still treating them like kids.
