| Description: | On the eve of his coronation, the king (Ronald Colman) is drugged and kidnapped by his brother Michael (Raymond Massey). British tourist Rudolf Fassendyll (also Ronald Colman) is asked by the king's advisors to impersonate the king and go through with the coronation. He meets Princess Flavia (Madeleine Carroll) who is engaged to marry the king, and they fall in love. Rudolf finds out where the king is imprisoned and goes to rescue him. He fights off Rupert (Douglas Fairbanks Jr.), Michael's henchman and rescues the king. He asks Flavia to return to England with him, but she chooses duty over love. |
