Description:British movie that blatantly attempts to emulate the American movies of the time (Astaire and Rogers) and make a star of singer/dancer Jessie Matthews. She plays Elaine, a chorus girl who can't find a gig. Reporter Peter (Robert Young) meets her and falls in love. Meanwhile, to create a stir in the paper, he invents an Indian heiress, Mrs. Smythe-Smythe, and makes all sorts of claims about her. Elaine, not knowing Peter is responsible or that the character is fictional, pretends to be her and becomes famous, even gaining a starring role in a play. Peter tells he, and together they conspire to make Smythe-Smythe a big deal. But when another reporter finds out and is about to expose them, Elaine quits the show and then auditions as herself and succeeds.

Review - It's Love Again

Succeeds in accomplishing what it sets out to do—enjoyably and forgettably. Young is bland. Matthews is appealing, although her dancing style is more athletic and less graceful than, say, Ginger Rogers.
