Description:Mrs. Bramson (May Whitty), a cantankerous old woman, hires Danny (Robert Montgomery) as a servant at her country house. Her niece/companion Oliva (Rosalind Russell) finds herself drawn to Danny although she suspects he had something to do with the disappearance of a local woman. As her suspicions grow, so does her feelings. She finally has to escape and leaves the house. Danny, thinking he's alone, kills the old woman and breaks into her safe. Oliva returns, still drawn to Danny. When she finds out what he's done, he says he has to kill her too, but she is relieved that she's no longer drawn to him. Before he can act, the police arrive and arrest Danny.

I suspect it was a good movie, I just couldn't get into it. My sympathies were all with Oliva and couldn't see why she was drawn to the obviously scheming, fake, slimy Danny.
