Review - Hotel Paradiso
Too silly and slapstick to be enjoyable.

| Description: | Benedict (Alec Guinness), tired of his domineering wife, proposes a fling with Marcelle (Gina Lollobrigida) who is neglected by her husband Henri. For their fling, they choose the seedy Hotel Paradiso, not knowing that Henri has been hired by the hotel to investigate ghosts. At the same time, Benedict's maid is there on a tryst with Marcelle's nephew, and a very annoying friend of Benedicts is also there with his four daughters. There's a whole lot of sneaking around and confusion and, finally, they're all arrested by the police. But thanks to some lucky breaks, Benedict and Marcelle get away with it—until a few months later when they see themselves as characters in a new play written by a man who saw the whole thing. |
