Review - Sam Whiskey
Good characters, and a good, light feel to the movie, but ultimately, it was kinda slow. Maybe I've seen too many heist films.

| Description: | Laura (Angie Dickinson) hired gambler Sam Whiskey (Burt Reynolds) to recover half a million in gold bullion from a sunken steamboat and return it to the U.S. mint in Denver. Her father stole it and she wants it back to protect her family's reputation. Sam gets friends O.W. (Clint Walker) and Jed (Ossie Davis) to help. They run into problems from a guy who keeps hiring thugs to stop them so he can take the gold. Sam and his friends take a bust of Washington from the mint, replace it with one made from the gold, then sneak into the mint, melt the bust and mold it back into bars. The warden and guards think they're being robbed, but Sam and his buddies manage to return the gold and get away. |
