| Description: | The adventures of the members of the U.S. Navy Public Relations personnel on a small Pacific island far from the war. Lt. Max Siegel (Glenn Ford) falls for local schoolteacher Melora (Gia Scala). He realizes that, to be with her, he will need to stay on the island. Yoeman Adam (Earl Holliman) falls in love with Lt. Alice (Anne Francis) and she with him. Although enlisted men aren't allowed to fraternize with officers, with the help of Max, they manage. There are other story lines, involving an obnoxious reporter, a woman correspondent, and a rough sailor who was picked to be the typical sailor on a fundraising drive. |
